Attention: Families of ISD 279
The Institute for Athletic Medicine (IAM) will be attending Osseo Senior High School on 8/10/2017 in the east gymnasium between the hours of 9:30am and 5pm. During this time they will be performing functional movement screens for the high school student athletes of district 279 (Park Center High School, Osseo High School, Maple Grove High School).
The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is a pre-participation screening tool designed to identify compensatory movement patterns that are indicative of increased injury risk and inefficient movement that causes reduced performance. The FMS is NOT a pre-participation medical sports physical.
Athletic Trainers and physical therapists will observe and assess your student athlete through 7 different movement patterns. This process should take no longer than 15-20 minutes and each athlete will leave with a brief exercise plan to work on corrective strategies to improve their movement efficiency.
A sign up sheet has been designed to help with the flow of student athletes throughout the day. Please select a time that works best for you and your families to participate with us and plan to arrive during that time frame.
Sign up for this event is required. Please follow this link http://www.SignUpGenius.com/go/20F0B49ACAD2CA5FD0-isd279 to reserve a time slot for your student athlete to complete this screen. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your time slot for check in.
Prior to your arrival, we ask that you also complete a pre-participation health history form. Your screen cannot be performed until we have a record of this being completed. This can be completed via the following link: Functional Movement Screen Health History
